Job Title: Senior Residential Support Worker / Team Leader
Location: Birmingham
Salary: ยฃ30,000 – ยฃ40,000 per annum, including sleeps
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role:

I am working with a Residential Children’s Home who provide a safe, secure and nurturing environment for children and young people with learning difficulties aged 7 to 18 years old.

Their approach is to individualise therapeutic support and provide the ideal relationship that each of their children require to achieve the best possible in all areas.

I am looking for a highly experienced Senior Residential Support Worker or Team Leader who has experience with children and young people with learning difficulties who is able to step in and be a positive influence in the homes.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting young people with their emotional, social, and physical needs.
  • Leading, mentoring, and motivating a team of Residential Support Workers.
  • Helping create and follow care plans that put the children first.
  • Encouraging a safe, positive, and nurturing environment where kids can thrive.
  • Supporting the Registered Manager with Ofsted regulations and policies.
  • Handling challenging behaviours in a calm and professional way.
  • Planning and joining in with fun activities and outings.
  • Acting as a key worker, offering guidance and emotional support.
  • Keeping accurate records and ensuring safeguarding procedures are always followed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) (a must-have).
  • Experience working in a children’s residential setting.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to support and inspire a team.
  • Great communication and people skills.
  • A caring, patient, and resilient attitude.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.
  • A full UK driving license is preferred
